Adding a Service Level Objective (SLO)

With the Service Level Indicator added, a Service Level Objective can help our team measure the overall health. SLO's are helpful as they can provide insights as to the health of the SLX over time, establish error budgets, and generate alerts.

As the SLI that was selected returns an overall health score (1 = healthy, 0=unhealthy), an SLO should be a combination of a healthy score, over a percentage of time:

To add the SLO:

  • Select ADD A SERVICE LEVEL OBJECTIVE (SLO)

  • Set the statement such that the SLI should be greater than 0 (healthy), 99.9% of the time

  • Select NEXT to review the Alerts and Workflows configuration notes

  • Select COMMIT
